Bournemouth have signed centre-half Russell Perrett on a one-year contract following his release by Luton Town. The 34-year-old left Kenilworth Road after a six-year stint with the Hatters and has quickly tied up a switch to Dean Court. Perrett started his career with Portsmouth, making more than 80 appearances for Pompey before joining Cardiff City in the summer of 1999. After spending two seasons with the Bluebirds, Perrett headed to Luton in the summer of 2001. He went on to make 108 appearances for Town, scoring nine goals, before being allowed to move on following the club's relegation to League One.
