Cherries Miss Out On TV

The FA Cup replay against Wigan Athletic isn't one selected for live TV coverage.

With ITV and ESPN opting to show the all-Premiership FA replays instead of opting for a mouth watering view of a potential cup upset, Chairman Eddie Mitchell is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I thought we would have had a slight chance but they are going to go for the bigger games and bigger clubs. But it would be nice to get us on telly this season, especially with the way we are playing. I think it would open quite a few eyes. I think we are there to show people just what football we can play".

As for the prospect of welcoming Premier opposition to Dean Court, Mitchell went on to say: "I am very excited. They are a Premier League side, they are established in there and it will be a good game and good occasion. I would like to think it would be a sell-out. Things are tight for people at the moment but I would like to think it would be. The tickets are relatively cheap for the cup games so it would be great if it was".
