Cherries close to takeover

Bournemouth are reported to be close to agreeing a takeover deal with a mystery Middle East consortium. The Cherries, who started the season on minus 17 points after entering administration in August, believe a deal could be reached by the end of March. "The people I'm bringing in are known to me and were looking to buy a Premier League club four or five years ago," chief executive Alastair Saverimutto told BBC Radio Solent. "It takes time to get to the position we are in at the moment and to get there in just four weeks is quite incredible. "It is helped that these people trust me - they are credible people."
