Cherries chief praises Pearce
Boss Eddie Howe compared Jason Pearce to Terry Butcher after the captain led Bournemouth to victory at Swindon.Pearce capped a fine display with a stunning winning goal - an overhead kick from 12 yards out with only 10 minutes remaining."I haven't seen a better goal than that for a long time, it was a great finish," said Howe. "Im pleased for him because he was fantastic. Wearing the headband suited him and I thought he was very reminiscent of Terry Butcher. He was very aggressive against Charlie Austin and he needed to be."Bournemouth took the lead after 11 minutes when Austin handled in the area following a long throw from Liam Feeney.Marc Pugh stepped up and saw his penalty pushed onto the post by Robins keeper Phil Smith, but the ball squirmed back across goal for Pugh to tap in and score his ninth league goal of the season.Swindon equalised soon after with a superb team goal. A quick throw on the right found Manchester City loanee David Ball, who got to the byline and pulled back a great low cross for Matt Ritchie to connect sweetly with a left-foot shot that flew into the top right-hand corner.
