Cherries Back In For Ritchie?
It is being reported that AFC Bournemouth have made a further bid for Matt Ritchie.
It is being reported that AFC Bournemouth have made an improved offer for Swindon Town's Matt Ritchie, who was the centre of speculation before the loan window closed at the end of November.
This time, a bid of £500,000, has been made for the League Two winger. If the deal were to go ahead, this would smash the previous record for a fee paid for a player to come to Dean Court, which was £210,000 when Gavin Peacock was brough to the South Coast by Harry Redknapp.
On the subject of Ritchie, manager Lee Bradbury has been quoted as saying: "I think it is a very good bid for Matt Ritchie. I know he probably wants to play at a higher level and it is a chance for him. If the club could do a deal then I am sure Matt would like to move up a league. I will have to have talks with the chairman in the next few days to see what we are going to do. It is a lot of money but I think he is probably the best winger in League Two. He scores goals, creates goals and is 22. The potential is fantastic. I know him as a player and have watched him quite a bit. I feel he is a threat and has a great left foot. He is at the right age and would be a fantastic investment for the club if the bid were to be successful".
