Cherries: Jalal urges fans to stick with players

SHWAN Jalal insisted automatic promotion was still up for grabs and then urged the Dean Court faithful to play their part. The Cherries goalkeeper believes his side can still mount a push for a place in the top two as a number of clubs battle it out for a spot in next season's Championship. Cherries slipped from second spot following Saturday's 3-1 derby defeat at the hands of Southampton. But with just two points separating Huddersfield in second and sixth-placed MK Dons, Jalal reckons it is still all to play for. Dean Court attendances have exceeded 7,000 in all but two games since Christmas and Jalal is hoping supporters turn out in force to boost Lee Bradbury's men in their remaining home fixtures. He told the Echo: We had 10,000 people there on Saturday and I hope for the remaining home games we can get that every time. They stuck with us all the way to the end against Southampton and they have got to keep coming back because we are not done yet. We have got 10 games and we can still do something this season. Jalal added: In the past 10 games, teams are getting desperate for positive results so I think there will be a couple of results that raise eyebrows. Last season, we were going through a bad spell, got our heads up and battled through it. We have got to do that again this year.
