Cherries: Jalal to miss cup clash

Cherries goalkeeper Shwan Jalal has been ruled out of today's FA Cup showdown with Notts County. The in-form stopper twisted his left ankle in training on Thursday and had been receiving intensive treatment in a bid to feature in the Dean Court clash. But he dealt a blow to Cherries after failing to recover in time after boss Eddie Howe gave the key player until the last minute to prove his fitness. Rookie Dan Thomas replaces Jalal for just his second senior appearance, having made his debut at Northampton in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy earlier this season. Thomas, 18, was also a slight injury worry after suffering a back spasm in Thursday's training session.
