Cherries: Jalal thanks his lucky stars
GOALKEEPER Shwan Jalal relived the anxious seconds when he thought his unblemished record had bitten the dust. Jalal looked certain to concede his first league goal of the season when he dropped a cross in the closing stages of last nights 1-0 win over Aldershot. But the stopper redeemed himself when he dived at the feet of Marvin Morgan and Danny Hylton to deny the visitors a dramatic injury-time leveller. Jalal said: It was a heart-in-mouth situation. The ball moved away at the last second as I tried to grasp it and it caught the end of my fingers. I dived as quickly as I could and, luckily enough, it stuck in my hand so I was really grateful. Youve just got to take the rough with the smooth. Were playing and defending well and long may it continue. Nobody is getting carried away. Weve set the standard in our first three games and this is our benchmark. We cant drop from this. Jalal added: Aldershot are a very good passing side and we knew they would come out and make it hard for us to break through them. To their credit, they did that. They came back at us for the last 20 minutes but we kept going. It was a fantastic team performance. It was more patient than anything else. At half-time, Eddie told us to keep playing our own game and not to do anything silly because the goal would come. He was right and now weve got to keep the run going.
