Cherries: Howe aware of Kuffour danger

BOSS Eddie Howe has highlighted the threat posed by familiar foe Jo Kuffour as Cherries look to keep the ex-Dean Court star quiet tomorrow. Kuffour is set to lead the Bristol Rovers attack when the teams meet at the Memorial Stadium tomorrow (3pm). And he is well known to Howe, who was on Kevin Bond's staff when the former Arsenal trainee netted 12 league goals in his time on the south coast. When asked about the frontman, Howe told the Echo: I like Jo and I thought he did well for us. He's very quick, technically very good and he's got a decent goalscoring record. We were really sorry to lose him when he left for Bristol Rovers at the time. He's definitely going to be a threat. On his day, he can be a real handful. He's one we have to be aware of as well as their other threats. A lot of the squad that was here with Jo are still here, so he'll know a lot about our players and we know all about him. They've got some good players in their front line so we know it's going to be difficult. But if we can perform like we did against Leyton Orient in our last away game, we're confident that we can get a positive result. Cherries were yesterday hampered by the weather conditions and they could not train due to the snow, with no outside training facilities playable and road conditions hazardous for players living outside the area. But Howe was hoping to continue pre-match preparations today. Howe revealed that top scorer Marc Pugh (leg) could come into contention for the trip to Bristol but that defensive pair Ryan Garry (shin) and Shaun Cooper (calf) were set to miss out. ¢ Cherries' home League One match against Charlton Athletic on Saturday, March 26 will kick-off at 1pm. The change in time is in order to avoid a clash with the European Championship qualifier between Wales and England, which begins at 3pm. Rovers: (from) Andersen, Anthony, Coles, Tunnicliffe, Sawyer, Reece, Campbell, Lines, Hughes, Hoskins, Kuffour, Brown, Akinde, Swallow, Richard, Pell, Clough, Powell, Jefferies, Green. Cherries: (form) Stewart, Smith, Bartley, Pearce, Wiggins, Feeney, Robinson, Hollands, Arter, Symes, Bignall, Fletcher, Bradbury, Cummings, Taylor, Ings, Stockley, Pugh.
