Cherries: Hollands hoping to prove people wrong
Published : 12 May 2011 07:00:00
DANNY Hollands insists size does not matter when it comes to the lottery of the play-offs. The midfielder admits Cherries are the smallest club left in the running for promotion to the Championship, but believes Lee Bradbury's side can continue to punch above their weight in the race for Old Trafford. Cherries start their quest for a play-off final place against Huddersfield at Dean Court on Saturday (12.45pm), before visiting the Galpharm Stadium for the second leg next Wednesday. Hollands, one of only a handful of current Dean Court stars to have tasted both promotion and relegation with the Dorset club, told the Echo: People this season were just hoping we could avoid relegation. But the way we have performed shows what characters we have got and when people doubt us, we just prove them wrong again and again. Hopefully, we can do that again and prove to people that we are good enough to be in this position. We are probably the smallest club left in the play-offs but it doesn't matter to us. Previewing Saturday's visit of Lee Clark's side, the 25-year-old added: We have played Huddersfield twice and I feel we were the best team in both games. Down here, they didn't create anything and up there we passed them off the park. If anything, they are probably wary of us. We know they are a big club compared with us, but we won't fear them. We have players who will put everything on the line to make sure we get to the final.
