Cherries: Eddie excited by Ings future
BOSS Eddie Howe is hopeful Danny Ings has a bright future after prolonging the attacking prospect's Dean Court stay. Howe this week demonstrated his faith in the homegrown forward by extending his initial three-month contract until the end of the season. And Howe praised Ings, currently gaining first-team experience on loan at Dorchester Town, for his attitude and performances since being handed a professional deal. He's done very well, said the Cherries manager. The biggest thing for Ingsy was to keep fit and get his stomach right and he's done that. But more than that, he's impressed whenever he's played. I think he did well in the pre-season friendlies, he's done well in training and he has showed the right attitude. He wants to improve and we're hopeful he's got a bright future ahead of him. Ings, who was sidelined by an abdominal injury for a large part of last season, scored on his debut for the Magpies last weekend. He is again likely to feature in Conference South action when Dorchester host Boreham Wood today. Discussing the loan move, Howe added: First and foremost, he will be playing every week in a competitive environment where there are points at stake. I think it's a good experience and all part of his development in making Danny a better player. He had a long time out last season so the more games he gets at this stage the better.
