Cherries: Danny ready for County test

SKIPPER Danny Hollands has expressed his gratitude towards the club's long-suffering supporters and he intends to richly reward their loyalty with on-field success. Midfielder Hollands has been a solid performer as Cherries have set League Two alight this season with their promotion push catching many observers by surprise. The team's impressive form under boss Eddie Howe has yielded increased attendances both home and away with Tuesday's crowd for the top-of-the-table clash against Dagenham and Redbridge falling just shy of 7,000. Another bumper attendance is expected for the visit of Notts County in the FA Cup second round tomorrow. And Hollands and his team-mates are hoping to send the home faithful home happy. He told the Echo: The fans have been great for the whole season and they've supported us at home and away. We want to give them something to cheer about because last season there were a lot of lows throughout the whole club. The former Chelsea reserve team captain admits his side have a point to prove on home turf, having failed to defeat major rivals Chesterfield, Rochdale and Dagenham and Redbridge in recent outings. He added: We've got to make sure we stick together and we have got a point to prove. There's no better way of doing that than starting against Notts County. They've got some great players from higher leagues. It's going to be a massive test for us but we thrive on things like that.
