Cherries: Anton hits out at County programme

GOALSCORING hero Anton Robinson hit back at disrespectful remarks in the Notts County programme and revealed the article had spurred his side to victory. Cherries got their League One play-off push back on track after Robinson's header and a Danny Ings strike secured a 2-0 win at Meadow Lane. Cherries midfielder Robinson admitted his team had been inspired by a cutting critique in County's matchday publication. In the section on the away side, the programme stated: Looking jaded, inexperienced and laboured in front of goal have been criticisms levelled at Bradbury's youthful squad. Following the win, Robinson revealed the comments had been highlighted and pinned to the home dressing room door. He told Cherries' official website: All the lads were really disappointed with what they put in their programme. I think it was a bit silly of them as it just gave us extra ammunition to go out there and show them what we were capable of and to put on a performance. The former Weymouth captain added: It is hard to believe any club would put that in their programme. We all found it disrespectful and it just made us even more determined to go out there and get the three points, even though we were confident going into the game. The article also stated: While Championship football was highly sought after by supporters with over-inflated expectations, perhaps back-to-back promotions would have been an overindulgence too far for a club that only staved off relegation to the Conference 24 months previous.
