Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond says his club are highly unlikely to make a bid to bring former England striker Teddy Sheringham to Dean Court.
The 41-year-old, who was recently awarded an MBE, is a free agent after leaving West Ham, but Bond says an approach by the Cherries is not likely.
He told the Bournemouth Echo: "I haven't spoken to Teddy. He is a player I've worked with before and somebody I've got the utmost respect for.
"Like everybody else, I have read that Teddy has stated that he wants to continue playing and so he should because he can still play, he wants to play and has the desire to play.
"I think every player should play for as long as they can providing they can do themselves justice and he certainty can."
