Bond admits team gamble

Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond admitted he gambled with the side he sent out on Saturday, but was rewarded with a 4-1 victory over Crewe Alexandra.

French winger Max Gradel tormented the home defence and capped a fine display with two eye-catching goals in the second half.

Lee Bradbury and Darren Anderton also chipped in with goals as the Cherries eased to victory at Gresty Road.

"Maybe we took a bit of a chance with the team we picked, but we gave ourselves a chance," admitted Bond.

"We've come away from home with five attack-minded players, so we hoped that we'd create problems and I think it turned out that way.

"We got our noses in front and that gave us a platform to build on."
