Arter Eyeing International Call-Ups
Published : 19 Nov 2011 15:52:11
Harry Arter is hoping to resurrect his international career with the Republic of Ireland during his time at Dean Court.
With a good run in the first team at Dean Court, with the improved performances we've seen from Harry Arter, the Cherries midfielder is hoping to get his chance with the Republic of Ireland again.
Arter is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I won my first cap when I was 14 and at Charlton and played from under-15 to under-19. It was something I really enjoyed. I got called up by England C when I was at Woking a couple of years ago but turned it down because I still feel I have got ambitions to play for Ireland. It was pleasing to know the chief scout came to watch me and, hopefully, I can get back into their plans. They are improving all the time as a country and I would like to be part of it. rom a personal point of view, I have been pleased with the season so far. It is my first full season and I know I need to strive for consistency. I am a ball player and need to realise that not every game is going to be perfect football. Some games are going to be ugly and that is a side I need to work on. I feel I have shined when we have played teams who play good football, even if we haven’t necessarily got good results in some of those games. Hopefully, I can grow as a player here and the club can continue to flourish as well. There is no reason why I can’t fulfil my international ambitions while I am here".
