Dons double boost

AFC Wimbledon have been handed fitness boost on and off the pitch ahead of the visit of Northampton.

Winger George Francomb is available after recovering from a side injury, and manager Neal Ardley will be back in the dug-out after missing last weekend's 1-1 draw at Tranmere following hip surgery.

Midfielder Dannie Bulman returns from suspension but Jack Smith, Callum Kennedy and James Shea are out injured.

Adebayo Akinfenwa starts in attack against the club for whom he scored 74 goals over two spells.

Northampton are likely to be without Tom Newey who is struggling with an ankle problem.

But Evan Horwood could return after being sidelined for the last two weeks with a troublesome hip injury.

Diego Di Girolamo is also set for a comeback after the loanee missed the 2-1 win over Luton after returning from international duty with Italy Under-20s last week.

Striker Marc Richards is out of his protective boot but is still recovering from an Achilles injury and remains absent.
