Fenlon banned for Dons

AFC Wimbledon are without Jim Fenlon as they host Northampton.

The defender serves a one-match ban after accumulating five yellow cards this season.

Fenlon was originally meant to miss the game against Port Vale at the weekend but the fixture was postponed due to a waterlogged playing surface at Vale Park.

But the break has allowed Brendan Kiernan and Rashid Yussuff extra time to get over their injuries.

Forward Kiernan has been out since September with an ankle injury while midfielder Yussuff was sidelined for a month with a hip infection. Both are pushing for a return to the matchday squad.

Strikers Byron Harrison (back) and Charlie Strutton (knee) could also return after the duo missed the 1-0 defeat to Rotherham last time out, while Paul McCallum's three-match ban is over.

Northampton have top scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa available following suspension.

The Cobblers front man was ruled out of Saturday's 2-0 home win against Aldershot due to a one-match ban, but is set to make an immediate first-team return against the Dons.

Ishmel Demontagnac deputised for Akinfenwa against the Shots but is unlikely to keep his place after being substituted at half-time.

Jake Robinson staked his claim for a starting spot after making an immediate impact from the bench as Demontagnac's replacement, opening the deadlock just three minutes after coming on the field.

Manager Aidy Boothroyd also has Joe Widdowson at his disposal, after the defender made a full recovery from a dead leg.

Luke Guttridge has also returned to training following a foot injury, but is unlikely to feature against Neal Ardley's strugglers.
