Duo in line for Dons debuts

AFC Wimbledon could hand debuts to two players when they host Bury.

The Dons welcome the Shakers looking to put an end to a run of three straight defeats and they have been busy this week adding Scunthorpe captain Michael Collins and former Tottenham man Jake Nicholson to their squad.

Manager Neal Ardley confirmed that Collins, who arrived on loan until the end of the season, is fit to play despite not starting a match yet in 2014 and he looks the more likely of the two to work his way into the starting line-up.

Midfielder Peter Sweeney is back in full training but the clash with his old club may come too soon for a player who has been out since December with a stress fracture to a metatarsal.

Jake Carroll will go into Bury's squad.

The left-back joined the Shakers on a loan deal on Wednesday from Huddersfield, although their manager Mark Robins expressed concerns over his match fitness given he has not featured regularly since the beginning of the campaign.

Ashley Grimes will definitely miss out for David Flitcroft's side with the forward set for around three weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring complaint.

Defender Phil Picken, who has not played since September 2012, could return down the season's stretch following a horrific knee injury.
