Wimbledon leapfrog Mansfield with comeback win

AFC Wimbledon overturned a half-time deficit to beat fellow play-off chasers Mansfield 3-1 and leapfrog their visitors in the table.

Matt Green had put the Stags in front before Lyle Taylor levelled things up early in the second half, Jonathan Meades put the hosts ahead and Adebayo Azeez completed the scoring late on.

Green confidently tapped home in the 11th minute after Wimbledon goalkeeper James Shea failed to punch clear a free-kick.

A well-timed tackle from Paul Robinson then thwarted Green as he looked for a second and Reggie Lambe was denied by Shea 10 minutes before the break.

Taylor had a goal ruled out for offside early in the second half but a few moments later he broke through on goal and calmly slotted the ball into the centre of the goal.

Wimbledon took the lead in the 78th minute when a corner whipped in by substitute Callum Kennedy and was met by Meades to powerfully head the ball into the bottom corner.

The points were made safe in the 87th minute when Tom Elliot flicked the ball through to Azeez who chipped over Brian Jensen.
