Midson makes amends

Jack Midson made amends for an early own goal by firing AFC Wimbledon to a 2-1 victory over Exeter at Kingsmeadow.

The striker had deflected a corner into his own net early on before Luke Moore equalised. Midson struck at the right end 16 minutes from time to seal the points for the Dons.

Midson tried to head Jimmy Keohane's deep corner wide of the right-hand post after just four minutes, but instead flicked it past a sprawling Ross Worner and into the bottom corner of the net.

Moore tapped in after 37 minutes to send the two sides into half-time level after Charlie Wyke had fended off a weak challenge from Jordan Moore-Taylor to send a low delivery across the six-yard-box.

Half-time substitute John O'Flynn came close to restoring Exeter's lead but fired over from 10 yards out, before Tom Nichols had a 58th minute tap-in ruled out.

Midson slid the ball home from two yards out to wrap up the points in the 74th minute following Kevin Sainte-Luce's driven ball across goal.
