Jerome Okimo nets from own half as Stevenage beat AFC Wimbledon

Jerome Okimo scored a free-kick from inside his own half as Stevenage came from behind to win 2-1 at AFC Wimbledon.

The visitors had the first clear chance after a whipped free-kick from Michael Tonge forced a diving save from on-loan goalkeeper Ben Wilson.

It was a day to forget for Wilson, though and after 38 minutes he rushed to clear the ball but Jamille Matt stole in to take it round the keeper only for his effort to trickle across the goal-line.

George Francomb then nodded the Dons ahead after 43 minutes when he arrived at the back post to direct Dannie Bulman's perfectly-weighted cross past Chris Day.

Stevenage were level after 56 minutes when Matt picked up a ball from Tom Pett and unleashed a curling effort into the corner.

Then after 76 minutes Okimo hit a free-kick from just inside his own half that Wilson flapped at and it bounced through his gloves and into the net to gift Stevenage all three points.
