AFC Wimbledon 0-0 Ebbsfleet United: Report

Christian not so Jolley for Dons AFC Wimbledon winger Christian Jolley had a day to forget as ten-man Dons were held to a goalless draw in the FA Cup first round by Ebbsfleet, who were also a player down. The 22-year-old missed two golden opportunities to fire the strongly favoured hosts in front early on before received his marching orders for a reckless tackle on Ebbsfleet's Craig Stone. Fleet's Ashley Carew followed suit just before half-time for a second bookable offence with neither team managing to make a clear breakthrough in the second half. Jolley should have known it was not going to be his day from the off as he failed to make Ebbsfleet keeper Preston Edwards work in the opening stages. At the other end keeper Seb Brown superbly kept out Michael West's free-kick before Jolley was giving his marching orders after a rush of blood to the head. In a second half of little action Wimbledon thought they had a penalty when Sammy Moore was pulled down on the edge of the box only for a free-kick to be given. West again went close for the visitors but his 20-yard shot in the 78th minute whistled just wide as a replay looked more and more inevitable.
