Wiggins leads from front

Rhoys Wiggins was the inspirational figure as Bournemouth scored twice in five minutes shortly before half-time and added a third in the second half in a 3-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge. The Welsh Under-21 international created both of Bournemouth's first-half strikes before capping a fine individual performance with his first league goal. Despite having scored 13 times in their previous four matches, Bournemouth lacked fluency for long periods of the first half, but once Jason Pearce fired them in front eight minutes before the break, there was little doubt about the outcome. Pearce stabbed the Cherries in front when Wiggins whisked the ball in from the right after Dagenham had failed to clear his corner. Five minutes later, the Welshman switched wings, delivering a pinpoint cross for Josh McQuoid to notch his fifth goal in four games. Bournemouth, one point off top spot, coasted home, with Wiggins getting his reward with their third goal ten minutes after the break, while Dagenham seldom looked like scoring a first league goal on their travels this season.
