We Will Not Be Held To Ransom - Bradbury

22 September 2011 13:53
Lee Bradbury has (rightly), come out and said that the Cherries will not be held to ransom by other clubs as AFCB look to replace recent departures. Just recently, AFC Bournemouth had made offers for Mark Marshall (at Barnet) and Tom Naylor (at Mansfield Town) in the 6 and 5-figure bracket respectively. Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Lee Bradbury is quoted as saying: "We put in a bid for Tom Naylor and it was turned down and it was the same with Mark Marshall. In my opinion, their respective clubs are asking for too much money and we are not willing to pay it. We have got other targets we have been looking at. We have made it clear to both clubs that our offers were final so we are looking elsewhere. We don’t want to pay what we feel is over the odds for players, especially one with only a season left (on his contract). It is real money and I have got to protect the club and do the best deal. If I can get somebody in with the same sort of ability for less then I will".
