Walsall Reaction - Cherries

Here's the post match reaction from the Cherries camp after another dreadful display.

Following another lacklustre display which saw the Cherries scratching their heads as to how/when/if a home win is going to come, here's the post match reaction from manager Paul Groves.

The under fire boss is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I thought it was one of our poorest performances, certainly at home, in terms of our ability to pass the ball and to carve out openings. There was a desperation about the performance and that had not been the case in our previous games".

On the 2nd substitution which prompted chants of "You don't know what you're doing" from all three sides of the ground, the entrenched Groves added: “You are at home and you want to take the game to the opposition but we weren’t able to do that for the first 55 minutes. The change enabled us to have a little bit of momentum, not much, but it eventually got us a goal back. The supporters voice their opinions which they are entitled to do. For the majority of the time, the crowd stayed with it. They tried to get behind us from the off and, once things go against you, people voice their opinions which is natural".

The defeat leaves the Club with a single win this season, and just 3 in 17 since Groves took over from Bradbury earlier in the year. Hardly promotion form by any standards - assuming promotion is the ambition of  Mitchell and Denim.
