Brett Pitman struck in the 86th minute - his fifth goal in as many games - with a volley from six yards after Jake Thomson had picked him out with a perfect centre from the right.[LNB]The goal was a major blow for Accrington who had wasted a glorious chance to take the lead in the 79th minute when Andy Procter blazed a penalty over the bar.[LNB]Howe said: "We had a bit of luck, with them missing a penalty and us scoring the winner so late. But we showed a great attitude and we kept plugging away so I suppose we just about deserved it.[LNB]"I felt we got our just rewards. It was never going to be easy against a tough team like Accrington but we have narrowed the gap between us and the teams above us to five points and that is a tremendous boost.[LNB]"You can be sure that our rivals at the bottom of the table will be looking for our result when they come in off the pitch but we showed tremendous spirit and determination so I have to be pleased with the outcome."[LNB][LNB]
