The Cherries have announced new appointments to the Board of Directors.

AFC Bournemouth have announced the appointment of 3 new Directors to the Board at Dean Court. Two are Mikhail Ponomarev and Alexey Panferov, with a third being Adam Murry.

A statement on the Clubs Official Web Site reads:

Ponomarev and Panferov have a long association with AFC Bournemouth and become the first Russian representatives on the board. 

38-year-old Ponomarev, is the founder of Energy Consulting Group Russia and was previously head of corporate governance for Tatneft. 

Ponomarev is close associates with AFC Bournemouth co-owner Maxim Demin and is heavily involved in football sponsorship in Russia and Europe.

As a company, Energy Consulting has owned and sponsored Torpedo Moscow and has also been instrumental to the remarkable rise of Fortuna Dusseldorf to the German Bundesliga. 

42-year-old Panferov is founder and managing partner at NewRussiaGrowth Private Equity, and was previously head of investment banking and member of the board at MDM Bank. 

The Russia and Italy based businessman has been a CSKA Moscow fan since a young age and has been a Cherries follower since Maxim Demin became the club's joint-owner. 

AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell said, "Mikhail and Alexey are two very successful men and people who we welcome onto the board. 

"They have both attended countless games at the Goldsands Stadium and are close associates of my business partner Max. We are so pleased to be able to add individuals to our team with such exceptional talent and pedigree, and I know Mikhail and Alexey will become valuable members of our setup." 

Panferov said, "I am delighted to become a board member of a football club that I am so passionate about. This season is progressing well and I think we have a long and exciting future ahead of us." 

Ponomarev said, "I have enjoyed my time at AFC Bournemouth, and have been honoured to watch it grow over the last two years. I am very proud to have been appointed to the board and I am looking forward to getting further involved at the club."
