Josh Wakefield made an impressive debut for the last 30 minutes at Scunthorpe United, that after the youngster only signed a professional contract relatively recently.
Wakefield is quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "I was surprised to be involved. I didn't realise I was travelling until late and was really happy to be on the bench and even more delighted to come on for half an hour. I wasn't expecting to come on at all, so when Paul and Shaun told me to get ready I was really nervous, but as soon as I got on I settled down and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the run and shot and that helped. I think when you come on and do something well and make something happen it helps to settle you down and focus. My mum, dad and girlfriend travelled all the way up from the Isle of Wight to watch, so for me to come on in the game just made the day even better".
