Scunthorpe United Reaction - Cherries I

29 April 2012 19:54
Here's some of the post match reaction following the draw in north Lincolnshire.

Speaking after the match about the vocal travelling support, boosted by a lively contingent on a stag weekend in Doncaster (!), caretaker boss, Paul Groves is quoted as saying: "The supporters were fantastic, turning up in good numbers and really getting behind the team. I think they recognised the response they got from the players, particularly when Scunthorpe drew level. The players were obviously disappointed, but the supporters responded in a positive way and that spurred the lads on to have a real go at the opposition and get the three points and with the opportunities we had, we could have probably have nicked it. I want to pay great credit to the travelling supporters that week in and week out make long journeys to support their team. I would like to thank all of them for their tremendous loyalty to the club and the amount of miles they have travelled not only during myself and Shaun's period in charge, but throughout the season. The backing they give the players a long way from home is recognised by everyone. They know when the players need a lift and that is a great credit to their football knowledge".
