Robins confident of game surviving

Wintry conditions and a drop in temperatures in Gloucestershire has meant the pitch at Whaddon Road has been frozen over since Friday night, something which caused the postponement of Saturday's home clash against Burton.[LNB]The playing surface currently remains in a similar state but a predicted improvement in the weather as the week wears on means groundsman Terry Roberts can see no reason why this weekend's encounter against the Cherries will not go ahead.[LNB]"Last Friday was a heavy frost and it even got under the frost covers," he explained on the club's official website. "I'll remove the covers today (Tuesday) and as temperatures start to rise then the frost should start to come out.[LNB]"The forecast for the end of the week is sunny spells during the day and temperatures up by five degrees with no frost on Friday night. If that all goes to plan then we should be fine for Boxing Day."[LNB][LNB]
