Pitman Does Get The Credit He Deserves

Manager Eddie Howe has spoken about about Brett Pitman, his work rate, clearly responding to comments from some quarters that he's not good enough.

With a minority of the fan base of the mind set that Brett Pitman doesn't work hard enough on the pitch, the striker who fired the Cherries to League Two success 3 years ago returned to Dean Court after a spell at Bristol City to get the Cherries promotion band wagon heading to the summit of League One.

Manager Eddie Howe, speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo has gone on record as saying: "I have had chats with Brett, especially when he was younger, about certain signs that he gives off. But you can’t change a player’s body language and I think it can be very misleading when you talk about Brett. He does work extremely hard for the team. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves for the amount of work that he gets through. I think it is a key hallmark of our team. Whoever plays up front has to start the defending from the front. If Brett wasn’t doing it, he wouldn’t play".
