Peterborough United Reaction - Cherries II

Here's further post match reaction to the Cherries 5-1 win over Peterborough United at the weekend. Manager Eddie Howe was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "We were outstanding from the first whistle and really took the game to them. We hadn’t scored in two games and responded in fantastic style. If there were any doubts that we weren’t good enough at this level, I think they have quickly gone. There were no doubts from inside the changing room, it was more people from outside. They are very quick to jump to conclusions and can quickly turn on you. Everyone to a man was excellent and we all performed. We put them under real pressure, closed them down from the front and got our rewards. I thought we looked better and I thought our shape was good. I didn’t think our shape was bad in the other games. We were unlucky against Southampton and Charlton. It was just a case of getting Michael fit and getting him up to match speed. Considering the lack of training he has had, he was excellent. Marc Pugh didn’t stop running and Liam Feeney was a constant threat. Having a threat from both sides is an added element to us this season and I think it’s going to make us a much better team. Marvin Bartley and Anton Robinson covered so much ground and made life slightly easier for our back four who were terrific again. It was no mean feat to keep their strikers as quiet as we did".
