O'Kane On Meteoric Rise

Eunan O'Kane expresses his surprise and delight at what's been acheieved at Dean Court in such a short space of time.

Since Eddie Howe returned back in October a stunning 74 points has been gained in just 34 matches, in a sequence which has seen the Cherries catapulted from relegation fodder to the Championship.

Midfielder, Eunan O'Kane, speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo on the rise and rose of the Cherries is quoted as saying: "I hadn’t even thought about promotion to be honest. I came from League Two so I just wanted to come here and do well in the league above, to prove to myself that I could do it. This is beyond my wildest dreams. At one stage we were 21st in the league and everyone at this club should take their share of the credit for what we have achieved. We picked up a lot of points on the teams that were in front of us and to be on top of the table with one game to go is nothing short of a miracle. It’s been a tremendous few months since October when the gaffer came in and I think it will take quite some time for a team to beat the number of points we have racked up since he came back. The league title is the aim. We’ve been chasing and chasing and the last time we got to the top, we lost five on the bounce so it will be a case of going there, winning and getting it done now".
