Notts County Reaction - Magpies

Here's the post match reaction from the County camp after their 3-3 draw at Dean Court on Saturday. County manager, Craig Short, was quoted after the match as saying: "We have got to start keeping clean sheets. We have to give ourselves a foundation to build on to win games. We have to get the defence back to how it was last season, even though they have come up a division. It is worrying because they were so strong last season, and we have got to put it right. We gave away bad goals again. The first one came from a free-kick, the second was a long ball. We should be able to defend those situations. It's basic stuff. I was a defender myself and we work hard on that side of our game in training. I take them aside and try to do all of the drills I did when I played, working with them as a back-four and with the two centre-halves. Once they cross the white line it's up to them to perform. We were really struggling in the first half and when they scored their third I thought it could be five or six. The game looked all over at half-time. We improved in defensively in the second half and Graeme Lee, who was caught out for the first goal, made a great goalline block, which I think was a turning point in the game. We're still not jumping for joy because we know we weren't good enough and got lucky. We won't get away with that again. It still feels like a defeat even though we rescued a point".
