No Quick Return For Purches

Stephen Purches is going to be taking his time to get back to full fitness following his double leg break.

He may be keen to get back to playing, but Stephen Purches is going to be out for 12 months (or there abouts) and isn't going to be hurrying back after the leg break sustained against Rochdale back in February.

Speaking to the Clubs Official Web Site, Purches is quoted as saying: "I will just take each step as it comes. I don't want to give myself a date when I have to be back. I'm going to see the surgeon at the end of next week and have an x-ray, hopefully that will be another positive step and I might then be able to put a bit of weight on my leg and start to walk again. That's my aim at the moment, and then I can tick that off and move on to the next target. I have really enjoyed this season. That's probably what has hurt the most. It was probably one of the most enjoyable seasons I've had, I don't know why but I was really enjoying my football. It is disappointing but these things happen in football. I'm hoping to get back as soon as I can, when that will be who knows, but I'm taking small steps at the moment".
