No Mad Spending The Summer

Rumours of a spending spree at Dean Court have been scotched by the Club.

With AFC Bournemouth being linked to a host of players in the 4 short weeks since the season finished at the end of April, speculation of a Summer spending spree in the Summer transfer window have been rubbished, especially given the need to balance the books with the Football League's Financial Fair Play rules will see the Cherries finances under close scrutiny.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Eddie Howe is quoted as saying: "You are only ever as good as your player recruitment and January was certainly a key time for us. We did some good business which helped us in our bid to win promotion. This window will be important to us although we are not sure how much player activity there will be at this moment in time. If we are able to do anything, we will need to make sure it is as good as it can be under the constraints".
