New Deal For Symes?

Could Michael Symes be about to sign a new, improved contract to stay at Dean Court?

Another who has been blighted by injury, Michael Symes has had to play 2nd fiddle to the incoming Wes Thomas in recent weeks despite being fit enough to play. With Thomas being forced out for a short period, Symes now has his chance to stake a claim to a place in the starting line up, and a new contract beyond the current season.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Symes is quoted as saying: "I love it here and want to get in the team, score as many goals as possible and, hopefully, there will be a new contract on the table. The contracts being offered in the summer were nowhere near as good as the ones now. If they had been, I probably would have signed there and then. With me not playing regularly at the moment, I am not in a strong position to demand anything so, when I play, I have got to try to do my best and see if I can earn a better offer. It is hard to be at your best when you get thrown in after not playing for weeks. I did okay in spells against Sheffield United but know I am a lot better than what I am showing at the moment. Anyone who has played knows you need a run of games to get the best out of you so that is what I want to try to do".
