More Transfer Drama

On the final day of the January transfer window, AFC Bournemouth have been busy, once again, in their quest to bolster the squad.

AFC Bournemouth have dipped their toe in the transfer market on the final day of the January transfer window.

With Matt Ritchie being speculated for much of the day, with an incredible £1.2million bid being tabled and rejected by Swindon Town, the Cherries reset their sights capturing Donal McDermott from Huddersfield Town for a more modest fee - reported to be in the region of £175,000.

McDermott will be no stranger to Dean Court having featured towards the end of last seasons play-off campaign, which saw McDermott score a key goal in the play-off semi-final againsy Huddersfield Town.

The Irish-born player made just 11 starting appearances (+3 from the bench) scoring just the once (JPT v Northampton Town) for the Terriers since switching from Manchester City last Summer.

On capturing the midfielder, Director Tom Mitchell was quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "We saw what a good player Donal is when he was with us last season, and we believe he will become an important player for us. He's one of the most exciting wingers in the league and we are delighted to have secured his signature. We have worked hard to support Lee over the last few weeks and we are pleased with the business we've done. We have built a young and strong squad, and can look forward to an exciting few months between now and the end of the season".
