Money Was Key - McQuoid

Josh McQuoid admits that money was a factor in his move to south east London. With John McQuoid departing for Millwall, the young striker has admitted that the money was a factor in his decision to leave Dean Court. McQuoid is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "Bournemouth came back with a couple of better offers and Eddie (Howe) told me that he wanted me to stay and that I was part of his plans. I said to him that you don’t get many chances to further your career in football and that was why I felt like the move was right. It is a short career and I want to play at the highest possible level. Eddie always told us to want to achieve more and to go higher. That’s one of the main reasons I decided to go. Money was also a part of it, I’m not going to lie about that. Millwall offered me a good deal, which I felt was right for me, and I felt the time was right to go. When the opportunity comes, you can’t turn it down. It is a big step to the Championship. But I’m confident in my own ability that I can make a difference. I’ve got nothing to fear. I’ve just got to show what I’m about".
