Mitchell set to take hard line

Mitchell is at the head of the Murry group who completed their takeover of the cash-strapped League Two club a fortnight ago. The group's introduction has already seen the Cherries arrange repayment plans with HMRC as well as prepare a new deal for manager Eddie Howe, but Mitchell is warning that they need to manage their future finances more carefully if they are to stay out of trouble. "My first port of call is to address the club's finances," he told the Daily Echo. "We've brought the wages up to date and will be making our first payment to HMRC this week. "We're limited to what we can do at this stage and are trying to stabilise the club's finances. It's no good getting players in if you can't pay for them." Mitchell, who expects to know if Howe will sign the contract offered to him this week, added: "It's beyond me how the club expected not to pay the taxman. It was cheating the supporters. We've got to run this as a business. It's not my style to have a jolly-up and then run away. If we can't pay for it, we won't buy it."
