AFC Bournemouth have signed 20-year old Jonathon Meades.

With the new season just days away, AFC Bournemouth have signed defender Jonathon Meades on a 2-year deal following his departure from Cardiff City at the back end of last season.

On signing for the Cherries, following a trial on the south coase, Meades is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I was really disappointed to be let go. That’s just the way it goes in football sometimes. I had a couple of injuries and things didn’t work out for me there. I am delighted to be here and just want to crack on. I have been training since Monday and really like it here. Hopefully, I have impressed in training and in the games. It was fantastic to get 90 minutes against a Premier League team. It was a great test. I feel I have done okay in the games I have played and I’m determined to get in the side – that’s what I’ve come here to do. I’m a left-back, but can play at right-back or in midfield, so I have that in my game and I can do a job wherever I’m asked to play".
