Here's our round up of the weekend action around League One.

Tranmere Rovers continue to conquer all before them, their latest success coming at play-off chasing Notts County at Meadow Lane. The only goal of the game came in the 22nd minute through Thompson to extend the lead at the top to 4 points. Notts County 7th, Tranmere Rovers 1st.

Stevenage Borough kept the pressure up with a 1-0 win over struggling Scunthorpe United at Broadhall Way. Tansey scored the only goal of the game in the 75th minute. Stevenage Borough 2nd, Scunthorpe United 22nd.

Sheffield United are tucked in behind the automatic promotion places following a 1-0 win over Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road. Blackman scored the only goal just before the hour mark. Leyton Orient 14th, Sheffield United 3rd.

Swindon Town maintained their good start to the season, while piling the pressure on struggling Bury. Collins scored the only goal of the game in the first minute. Bury 24th, Swindon Town 4th.

Portsmouth managed to throw away a 2-goal lead, having to settle for a 2-2 draw against Franchise FC at Stadium:Franchise. McLeod (4th min) and Gyepes (20th min) gave Pompey a 2-goal lead, only to see Webster put past his own keeper 5 minutes before the break. Potter levelled for a share of the points in the 72nd minute. Franchise FC 5th, Portsmouth 17th.

Crawley Town suffered a rare defeat at the hands of Brentford at Griffin Park. A brace from Donaldson (23rd & 76th mins) was punctuated with an Adams goal in the 59th minute. Brentford 9th, Crawley Town 6th.

If Preston North End are serious about a challenge for honours this season, surely they need to be picking up points off the likes of Oldham Athletic? This match at Boundary Park saw the Latics run off with the points in a 3-1 win. Baxter (27th min), Montano (57th min) and Furman (60th min) gave the home side the points, leaving Sodje to score a 94th minute consolation. Oldham Athletic 16th, Preston North End 8th.

Doncaster Rovers edged Shrewsbury Town at the Keepmoat, with a 1-0 win as Paynter scored the only goal in the 4th minute. Doncaster Rovers 10th, Shrewsbury Town 18th.

Carlisle United edged Walsall out at Bescot with a 2-1 win. Paterson gave the Saddlers the lead in the 17th minute, with Garner (29th min) and Noble (93rd min) snatching a win for the Cumbrians. Walsall 11th, Carlisle United 12th.

Yeovil Town managed to arrest their recent slide with a 3-1 win over Colchester United at Huish Park. A Madden brace (20th & 34th mins) was punctuated by a Ibehre goal in the 25th minute. The final say went to Hayter in the 78th minute. Yeovil Town 13th, Colchester United 19th.

Crewe Alexandra had to come from behind to claim the points against struggling Hartlepool United at Gresty Road. Horwood gave 'Pool the lead in the 9th minute only to see Aneke level on the stroke of half time and Ellis score the winner in the 20th minute. Crewe Alexandra 15th, Hartlepool United 23rd.

Coventry City and AFC Bournemouth managed to cunjour up a dour game at The Ricoh, in which the Sky Blues recorded their first home win since March as McGoldrick scored the only goal of the game in the 61st minute. The match was SO tame, neither side could even manage a booking! The Cherries slipped to their 4th straight defeat and a place in the bottom 4. Coventry City 20th, AFC Bournemouth 21st.
