Here's our round up of the action around League One.

After a few seasons of massive under achievement, are Charlton Athletic going to fulfil their potential and return to the 2nd tier of English football? Their top-of-the-table clash against Sheffield United resulted in teh Addicks recording their 5th away win of the season as they came away from Bramhall Lane with a 2-0 win. Goals from Kermorgant (65th min) and Wright-Phillips (67th min) sealed the win to open up a 5-point gap at the top. Sheffield United 6th, Charlton Athletic 1st.

Franchise FC managed to take advantage of slips elsewhere with a 3-0 win over 10-man Notts County at Stadium:Franchise, after Kelly was sent off after just 4 minutes. Goals from Balanta (11th min), Morrison (82nd min) and Powell (83rd min) sealed the comfortable win. Franchise FC 2nd, Notts County 8th.

Shock result of the day (must have been the heat) came in London's east end where Leyton Orient recorded their first win of the season - against high flying Preston North End. Coutts put PNE ahead in the 2nd minute, but that's as good as it got as Cox turned the game around with goals in the 36th and in first half stoppage time to set up the win. Leyton Orient 24th, Preston North End 3rd.

Hartlepool United slipped to their first defeat of the season as Sheffield Wednesday sneaked off with a 1-0 win at the Victoria Ground. Johnson scored the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute. Hartlepool United 7th, Sheffield Wednesday 4th.

Huddersfield Town ran off with a comfortable 4-0 win over Brentford at Griffin Park as Rhodes (36th and 76th mins), Novak (70th min) and Roberts (78th min) scored the goals to ensure victory. Brentford 9th, Huddersfield Town 5th.

Carlisle United had to settle for a point against Walsall at Bescot after Grigg gave the Saddlers the lead in the 33rd minute, with Robson levelling in the 50th minute for the Cumbrians. Walsall 19th, Carlisle United 10th.

Colchester United managed to dent Chesterfield's recent fine run with a 1-0 win at the b2Net stadium as Antonio scored the only goal of the game in the 30th minute. Chesterfield 16th, Colchester United 11th.

Exeter City managed to record their 2nd, and much-needed, win of the season with a 2-0 success over Oldham Athletic at St James's Park. Nardiello (18th min) and Bauza (49th min) scored the all important goal for the Grecians. Exeter City 23rd, Oldham Athletic 13th.

Scunthorpe United managed to record their first win on the road this season against Stevenage Borough at Broadhall Lane. Nolan gave Scunny the lead on the stroke of half time, with O'Connor doubling the advantage in the 92nd minute. Walker made the remainder of the 7 minutes of added time at the end of the game interesting with a 93rd minute goal. Stevenage Borough won the yellow-card count 5-2. Stevenage Borough 14th, Scunthorpe United 15th.

Rochdale managed to give themselves some breathing space at the foot of the table with a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers, Wycombe Wanderers at Spotland after Donnelly gave the Chairboys a 6th minute lead. Grimes turned the game around for Dale with goals in the 21st and 66th minutes. Rochdale 17th, Wycombe Wanderers 22nd.

Bury followed the example of the near neighbours by recording a much needed win too. Theirs came at the expense of Yeovil Town at Huish Park where the visitors ran off with the points following a 3-1 win, that after Agard gave the Glovers the lead in the 17th minute. Coke (43rd min), Amoo (67th min) and Sweeney (85th min) did what was necessary to turn the game around. Yeovil Town 21st, Bury 18th.

The only other game involving Tranmere Rovers (12th) and AFC Bournemouth (20th) finished in a 0-0 draw.
