Charlton Athletic left it very late to break Cherries' hearts at Dean Court as a 92nd minute goal from Kermorgant proved to be enough to sink AFC Bournemouth to their 4th stright defeat - their 9th at home in the League this season. AFC Bournemouth 12th, Charlton Athletic 1st.
The chasing pack failed to make too much of an impact. Sheffield United were reduced to 9-men as Oldham Athletic managed to edge a 3-2 win at Bramhall Lane to stun the Blades. It started well enough for the home side as Lowton and Evans established a 2-goal lead with strikes in the 22nd and 38th minutes. A Cresswell own goal put the Latics back in with a shout in the 65th minute. Lowton turned villian, being shown red in the 67th minute, which saw Lee level for the Latics 2 minutes later. Maguire saw red in the 91st minute for a foul which allowed Kuqi to score a dramatic 92nd minute winner. The win still leaves the Blades safely in 2nd. Sheffield United 2nd, Oldham Athletic 13th.
Sheffield Wednesday failed to make any impression over struggling Rochdale as the relegation threatened Dale held on to a 0-0 at Spotland. Rochdale 23rd, Sheffield Wednesday 3rd.
Huddersfield Town also failed to close the gap at the top as they were pegged back in a 3-3 draw at Gigg Lane against Bury. In an 8-minute spell Morrison (21st min) and Rhodes (25th & 29th mins) gave the Terriers what might have seem an unassailable 3-goal lead only to see Schumacher (32nd min), John-Lewis (70th min) and Eatham (92nd min) salvage a point for the home side. Bury 14th, Huddersfield Town 4th.
Franchise FC also failed to win as they shared the points with Hartlepool United at the Victoria Ground. Poole gave Pools the lead in the 40th minute, with O'Shea levelling 11 minutes later. Hartlepool United 9th, Franchise FC 5th.
Notts County managed to sneak in to the play-off places with a 2-0 win over Carlisle United at Meadow Lane. Forte (33rd min) and Sheehan (38th min) secured the win to elevate County in to the top-6. Notts County 6th, Carlisle United 8th.
On a day when those chasing promotion failed to win add Stevenage Borough who had to make do with a share of the spoils with Exeter City at St James's Park. Logan gave the Grecians the lead in the 16th minute, with Shroot levelling for the visitors in the 64th minute. Exeter City 20th, Stevenage Borough 7th.
Any hopes Brentford had of making the end of season play-offs were dealt a blow by Yeovil Town who boosted their chances of beating the drop. Saunders had given the Bees the lead in the 25th minute, only to see Williams hit a brace in the 49th and 87th minutes to salavage a win. Yeovil Town 17th, Brentford 10th.
Colchester United managed to see Preston North End off with a comprehensive 3-0 win at their Community Stadium. A Gillespie brace (19th min and 52nd min penalty) plus a strike from Bond (94th min) was all too much for PNE. Colchester United 11th, Preston North End 15th.
Walsall left it very late to salvage a point against Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road. Cox put the O's ahead in the 34th minute, only to see Lancashire level in the 95th minute. Leyton Orient 16th, Walsall 21st.
Scunthorpe United recorded a fine 4-1 win over relegation-bound Wycombe Wanderers at Glanford Park. Goals from Ried (5th min), Barcham (34th & 47th mins) and Parkin (55th min) left McClure to score an 86th minute consolation. Scunthorpe United 18th, Wycombe Wanderers 24th.
Chesterfield are abck to within 4-points of safety following a 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers at the b2Net Stadium. Bowery scored the only goal of the game leaving Rovers just 2-places and 4-points above the drop-zone. Chesterfield 22nd, Tranmere Rovers 19th.
