Here's our round up of the action around League One.

Charlton Athletic are just 3 more wins away from confirming automatic promotion following a 2-0 win over London neighbours Leyton Orient at The Valley. Goals from Wagstaff (7th min) and N'Guessan (82nd min) sealed the win, while the O's clocked up 5 yellow cards. Charlton Athletic 1st, Leyton Orient 18th.

Sheffield United kept up the pressure with a 1-0 win over Hartlepool United at Victoria Park. An Evans penalty in the 79th minute sealed the win. Hartlepool United 11th, Sheffield United 2nd.

Sheffield Wednesday also kept up the pressure on the leading pair with a 2-0 win over Preston North End at Hillsborough. A brace from Madine with strikes in the 49th and 64th minutes maintained the Owls dreams of automatic promotion. Sheffield Wednesday 3rd, Preston North End 16th.

Carlisle United put some day light between themselves and the chasing pack for the play-offs with a 2-1 win over potential play-off contenders Huddersfield Town at Brunton Park. Berrett put the Cumbrians ahead in the 48th minute. Novak levelled for the Terriers in the 80th minute, leaving Miller to grab a 95th minute winner. Carlisle United 6th, Huddersfield Town 4th.

Brentford managed to put one over Franchise FC at Stadium:Franchise as Donaldson (12th min) and Douglas (26th min) gave the Bees a 2-goal lead. A Williams penalty in the 88th minute made the final few minutes interesting. The yellow card count was 4-4. Franchise FC 5th, Brentford 9th.

Notts County left it late to claim a win over Oldham Athletic as Sheehan netted the only goal of the game in the 89th minute. Notts County 7th, Oldham Athletic 14th.

Having been looking at a play-off place, Stevenage Borough are slowly slipping backwards, not helped with a 1-1 draw with relegation haunted Wycombe Wanderers at Broadhall Way. Bostwick put the home side ahead in the 85th minute, leaving Basey to level from the penalty spot in the 94th minute. Stevenage Borough 8th, Wycombe Wanderers 21st.

If Exeter City are going to remain in League One, they are going to have to do better against the likes of Colchester United in the final half dozen matches or so. Duguid put ColU ahead in the 6th minute leaving Cureton to equalise in the 83rd minute. The draw leaves the Grecians some 9-points adrift of safety. Exeter City 23rd, Colchester United 10th.

Bury helped themselves with a massive 2-0 win over Tranmere Rovers at Gigg Lane. Sodje (67th min) and Coke (72nd min) netted goals to provide some daylight between themselves and those chasing safety. Bury 19th, Tranmere Rovers 13th.

Scunthorpe United managed to plunge Chesterfield deeper in to trouble at the foot of the table with a convincing 4-1 win at the b2Net Stadium even though Westcarr gave the Spirites the lead in the 21st minute. This prompted Robertson (28th & 75th mins), Walker (65th min) and Barcham (81st min) to claim the win. Chesterfield are now effectively 11 points adrift of safety with 6 matches left to play. Chesterfield 24th, Scunthorpe United 17th.

Are Rochdale doomed to follow Chesterfield to League Two? Their cause wasn't helped with a 3-3 draw against Walsall at Spotland. Ledesma (25th min) and a Widdowson own goal (38th min) put the Saddlers ahead going in at the break. Dale then hit back through Akpa Akpro (66th & 93rd min) and a Symes penalty (82nd min) put the home side 3-2 up, leaving Butler to break Dale hearts with a 94th minute leveller. Rochdale 22nd, Walsall 20th.

The other game played in League One saw AFC Bournemouth (12th) play out a 0-0 draw with Yeovil Town (15th) at Dean Court. The Cherries won the shots count 18 to 9.
