Here's our round up of the midweek around League One.

Charlton Athletic are to within a whisker of automatic promotion following a comfortable 3-0 win over Yeovil Town at The Valley. Goals from N'Guessan (7th min), Wright-Phillips (60th min) and Russell on the stroke of full time completed the win and bring an end to Yeovil's recent improvement. Charlton Athletic 1st, Yeovil Town 14th.

Sheffield United wiped the floor with Notts County at Meadow Lane, racing in to a 4-goal lead before the break. Goals from Quinn (16th min), Evans (22nd min), Lowton (27th min) and Collins (first half stoppage time) put the game beyond doubt before half time. Judge pulled one back for County in the 77th minute, with Williamson restoring the 4-goal advantage in the 89th minute with Kelly netting a consolation in the 91st minute. Notts County 8th, Sheffield United 2nd.

Sheffield Wednesday lost ground on the automatic promotion places following a 2-2 draw with Walsall at Hillsborough. Macken put the struggling Saddlers ahead in the 58th minute with Lowe levelling 2 minutes later. Paterson put the Saddlers ahead in the 73rd minute only to see a vital win snatched away from them with a 95th minute leveller through Madine. Sheffield Wednesday 3rd, Walsall 21st.

Huddersfield Town closed the gap on third place with a 2-0 win over struggling Chesterfield at the b2Net Stadium. Novak (23rd min) and Rhodes (27th min) sealed the win for the Terriers. Chesterfield 24th, Huddersfield Town 4th.

Franchise FC wiped the floor with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Leyton Orient at Stadium:Franchise. MacDonald got the ball rolloing with a 3rd morning strike, with Lisbie levelling in the 13th minute, but that was as good as it got as Williams (23rd min), Ibehre (80th min), and Powell (84th min) put the game beyond doubt. Franchise FC 5th, Leyton Orient 17th.

AFC Bournemouth brought an end to a 7-match winless run with a 1-0 run over Brentford at Dean Court. Fogden scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time. AFC Bournemouth 10th, Brentford 11th.

Hartlepool United came unstuck at home against Oldham Athletic as the Latics sealed a 1-0 win through Mvoto in the 8th minute. Hartlepool United 12th, Oldham Athletic 16th.

Tranmere Rovers continued to edge away from the drop zone with a 2-0 win over Rochdale at Spotland. Goals from Wallace (28th min) and Cassidy (82nd min) sealed the win for the visitors. Rochdale 22nd, Tranmere Rovers (15th).

Exeter City's plight is looking more and more gloomy as the business end of the season gets closer, while Wycombe Wanderers make a fight of it to stay up. Hayes and Beavon gave the Chairboys a 2-goal lead with strikes in the 58th and 63rd minutes, which brought a quick response from Dunne in the 66th minute. The away win was sealed when Hayes completed a brace with a 70th minute goal. Exeter City 23rd, Wycombe Wanderers 20th.

Carlisle United (6th) climbed in to the play off places with a 0-0 draw with Preston North End (13th) at Brunton Park. Stevenage Borough (7th) could only manage a 0-0 draw with Colchester United (9th). Bury (19th) and Scunthorpe United (18th) could only manage a 0-0 draw as well.
