League One Review - Jan 29th

29 January 2013 22:29
Here's our round up of the mid week action as a number of games are played out in League One as previously postponed fixtures are played out.

Swindon Town (3rd) edged to be within sight of the automatic promotion places despite being held 0-0 on their travels in east London by Leyton Orient (15th).

Yeovil Town dealt a blow to the hopes of Franchise FC as the Glovers edged a 2-1 at Huish Park. Madden gave the Glovers the lead in the 26th minute, with Kay levelling 9 minutes later. Madden secured the win with a 78th minute strike, leaving Franchise somewhat adrift of the play-off places compared to a few weeks ago. Yeovil Town 7th, Franchise FC 10th.

The woes of Portsmouth continue with a 2-0 defeat at home against Notts County who arrested a dreadful run they were on. Goals from Hughes (81st min) and Zoko (88th min) sealed the victory to leave Pompey 5 points short of safety. Portsmouth 23rd, Notts County 9th.

The game between Crawley Town (11th) and Preston North End (16th) was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
