League One Review - Feb 28th

Here's the round up of the midweek action around League One as the games in hand are played out.

Charlton Athletic find themselves a commanding 13-points clear at the top of League One following a convincing 4-0 away win over struggling Chesterfield at the b2Net Stadium. A Wright-Phillips hat-trick in the 43rd, 56th and 66th minutes was supplemented with a goal from Jackson as the Addicks close in on the League One title, while the Spirites struggle. Chesterfield 24th, Charlton Athletic 1st.

Huddersfield Town failed to make one of their games in hand count as they were held by fellow play-off contenders Stevenage Borough at Broadhall Lane despite taking a 2-goal lead through Ward and Novak in the 50th and 55th minutes. Bostwick and Shroot salvaged a point with goals in the 71st and 88th minutes. Stevenage Borough 6th, Huddersfield Town 4th.

Notts County closed in on a play-off place, but are outside only on goal difference follwoing a 1-0 win over Rochdale at Spotland, to dent their recent revival. Bencherif scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time in a match that also saw Lee Hughes sent off in the final few moments. Rochdale 24th, Notts County 7th.

Hartlepool United managed to overcome Bury at Gigg Lane to keep alive what slim play-off hopes they still have. Humphries gave Pool the lead on the stroke of half time, with Boyd extending that lead in the 74th minute. Worrall pulled one back in the 79th minute, but it wasn't enough to salvage a point. Bury 14th, Hartlepool United 11th.

Oldham Athletic and Colchester United played out a 1-1 draw at Boundary Park as Marsh-Brown gave the Latics the lead in the 37th minute, with Wordsworth levelling with 9 minutes to go. Oldham Athletic 15th, Colchester United 12th.
