There is, this evening, new leaders at the top of League One as AFC Bournemouth hoist themselves to the summit of the table following a 2-1 win against Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road. Pitman opened the scoring for the Cherries, from the penalty spot, in the 58th minute, with Pogba levelling in the 79th minute. Pitman netted his, and the Cherries second with an 84th minute winner. Crewe Alexandra 13th, AFC Bournemouth 1st.
Doncaster Rovers had the chance to go top, but failed to do so as their home form deserted them again, with a 0-0 draw against Franchise FC. Doncaster Rovers 2nd, Franchise FC 12th.
Sheffield United put their recent wobble behind them with a 2-0 win over recently improved Bury at Gigg Lane. Goals from Forte (38th min) and Murphy (60th min) sealed the win. Bury 22nd, Sheffield United 5th.
Brentford also managed to put their recent wobble out of their minds with a 2-0 win over Stevenage Borough at Griffin Park. Goals from Adeyemi (44th min) and Trotta (86th min) sealed their victory. Brentford 6th, Stevenage Borough 14th.
Keeping the pressure up were Yeovil Town who recorded a 3-1 win over Preston North End at Huish Park, despite going a goal behind to a Beardsley strike in the 30th minute. The Glovers hit back through Hayter (73rd min), Ralph (80th min) and Madden (94th min) to seal the win and heap more pressure on the PNE manager. Yeovil Town 7th, Preston North End 17th.
Scunthorpe United managed to put a little day light between themselves and the bottom-4 with a 3-1 win over Carlisle United at Glanford Park. Sodje and Reid gave Scunny the lead with goals in the 17th and 22nd minutes, with Berrett pulling one back on the stroke of half time. Sodje sealed the with with a 92nd minute strike to help claim a third successive (home) win. Scunthorpe United 18th, Carlisle United 16th.
The only other match in League One saw the bottom two come up against each other at Victoria Road as Hartlepool United and Portsmouth drew 0-0. The draw stops a run of 9 straight defeats and prevented a clun record 10th straight defeat for Pompey. Hartlepool United 24th, Portsmouth 23rd.
